Details:
Close your eyes and imagine taking a flight on the hottest musical ride from the Midwest to the durrty South…. With LIC at the controls, he takes you on a powerful journey through his roller coaster life as a young, tough Chicago street kid to a professional hustler’s life in Hotlanta.

Born on the infamous Westside of Chicago, LIC''s earliest memories of music were the R&B albums that his mother would play as well as what he heard on the radio. He quickly became fascinated with hip-hop and had a burning desire for songwriting. His love and appreciation of music eventually led him to writing and perfecting his many styles of rhymes. Full of determination, LIC relocated to Hotlanta where he and his business partners formed LIC World Entertainment, LLC.

On his debut album, Flight 808 - The Ticket, LIC encompasses the journey from his native Chicago to his Inauguration as an ATLien. LIC captivates the mind and soul of his audience by intertwining graphic tales of the city street bravado of a young hustler mixed with the perpetual struggle to keep his soul intact, all the while using the gritty inner city streets of Chicago to serve as a backdrop to his musical canvas.

The album’s first single, “Switch Da Flow” is a southern-styled anthem that begs to be chanted long after you leave your favorite club at four a.m. The track resembles a Classic Cutlass Supreme screaming to be viewed by onlookers, yet never breaking the self imposed two mile per hour speed limit. Complete with flawless money green paint and ballistic white walls, the innocent bystanders can only stop and gawk in amazement, as the track leaves them totally hypnotized.

However, if the track is comparable to a Cutlass, then LIC has to be Iceberg Slim himself. Navigating through the west side of Chicago or Atlanta’s east side, with a gansta lean so ferocious that it threatens to throw him to the slow moving asphalt. But with a chronicle that Robert Beck could never narrate, LIC hover’s slightly above the track exhaling lyrics of mere mortal interest until such time as words of omnipotence seem more appropriate:

“finally a rapper with some sense and a style 2
fuck ya style ya say ya wild but I don''t like u
ya claim ya choppa bussin shots well you''s a liar too
publicity stunt just to get you on the latest news

As Flight 808 gets closer to its Atlanta destination, we see the progression of a street -wise kid into a self assured young man. His flows, beats, and rhymes are now immersed in the “duurrty” south mentality, capable of rocking any club on Peachtree while staying true to his native environment.

In The Hook, which proclaims “I’m so cooooooooold! Switch the flow get the dough, nigga” is filled with self esteem and is definitely testosterone-driven. But it is sure to have the most honey coated dime piece echoing the sentiments of the Chi town native, as it’s infectious groove knows no gender.

“Switch” comes to an apex in the second verse as one of LIC’s personas, The 1-2 Bandit, crescendos into a hail of “1,2, 1,2’s…..” which sends the track searching for level ground. At it’s lowest levels, Switch is sure to be called a hot song- at it’s best, it will be known as a classic street anthem.

Somewhere between take off and cruising altitude, LIC introduces us to the personas created and cultivated by his environment and experiences. Enter - The 1, 2 Bandit. Personified by America’s urban youth, The Bandit captivates the essence of the streets - ride or die mentality with a “get the paper” attitude. The Preacher Man – the holy entity that keeps harmonious balance between the other personas. The Preacher Man realizes the roll that God plays in his life and continuously reminds the others. The Golden Boy loves the lights, cameras and stage. He plays his role to perfection. With a street-like edge dipped in Hollywood glam, The Golden Boy is the ultimate showman. Last, but not least is LIC - The ladies man, smoothes out the package like saxophone notes washed down by a smooth brandy. LIC refers to this amalgamation as “The Four String Quartet”.
