Details:
"Dee" (Dolores Pettet)Cator was born in Hendersonville, North Carolina, but has lived in many states, in Azores, Portugal, on Guam, and in Kamakura, Japan. She is a long-time writer of Christian music. In order to overcome shyness, she decided to surrender everything to God for Him to do what He wanted with her music. A succession of astonishing events followed which gave her more courage to “step forward in faith.” For example, within five minutes of offering to fill in as a luncheon entertainer at the Lewisburg, WV, Shepherd’s Center for any performers who had to cancel their engagements, she had her first booking for the following week! Shortly afterwards, she was performing and singing original works in churches and at community events.

While purchasing professional speakers from a music supply store in Indiana, Dee’s husband told the salesperson that he felt Dee had a lot of talent but needed direction, and did he have any suggestions. Several days later, the salesperson called back and recommended Marty Cole’s studio in Beckley, WV. Marty, a former member of the Christian group, “Servant,” had decided his gift was in the recording studio end of the business. His musical expertise and strong Christian faith gave Dee the direction she needed for the production of “Divine Fire!”
Even the album design cover was an affirmation that God wanted this work produced. Dee prayed that God would provide her with a graphics artist. Dee trusts the Bible promises, including the one that if you ask your earthly father for bread, he will not give you a stone, and of how much more your Heavenly Father will give one if they only ask. Within hours of that prayer, in a store in Covington, Virginia, two people stopped directly in front of Dee and began talking about their work in the publishing industry. In amazement, Dee blurted out, “Do you ever design CD covers?” She already knew the answer before Mac Beard answered “Yes.” Mac is a graphics artist home-based in Clifton Forge, WV. Within days, the “Divine Fire!” cover was ready. It’s blue flames, the hottest kind, are appropriate when describing one of God’s attributes.

Dee is joined on this album by the members of “Forgiven”: Lorena Judy, Tina Hedrick, and Nila Lytle. Although non-related, these versatile singers have a mellow blend of voices, similar to those found in families.

Lorena Judy is very versatile and sings both lead and harmony on this album depending upon the song. Her distinctive country voice and interpretive style set her apart from others in the Christian genre. Singing, composing, and playing guitar are long-time passions. She is married and has two sons and two step-sons.

"Tina" Hedrick was born Mary Cristine Morrison in Virginia but has lived in North Carolina and now makes her home in the beautiful mountains of Greenbrier County, West Virginia. As a young child, her life was touched deeply by the love of God and her greatest desire is to share the love of God with all. Tina has a classic voice and sings both lead and harmony. Her poignant interpretation as the lead singer of chosen songs gives them unique style. She works at a medical clinic, is an accomplished photographer, and sings with “Forgiven” at every opportunity as God leads. Her credits include being a former member of “The Mountain Church Quartet”, singing in churches throughout West Virginia, and as the performer of the National Anthem at many West Virginia State Fairs. She is married and has two teen-age boys.

Nila Golden Lytle was born and raised in Charmco, WV, the youngest of six children. She is a graduate of Glenville State College with a B.A. in Education, and also has a M.A. from West Virginia Graduate College. She taught twenty years in public schools before resiging to do the Lord''s work full time. She now resides in Dawson, WV, only a few miles from her birthplace. She began playing guitar and singing at at early age. She says, "God has been so merciful to me and I know my life is not my own. A swimming accident when I was twenty-two broke a vertebra in my neck and could have left me a quadriplegic. However, God spared me and gave me the opportunity to live for him. Music has always been an interest and challenge. When I play and sing, the most rewarding feeling is when I have been able to touch someone''s heart. Many artists have influenced my music, including Barbara Mandrell, Bill Monroe, Kathy Mattae, and Dale Ann Bradley. But the one who gave me my musical roots, the one who showed me that life''s daily battles will be overcome through Jesus Christ, and who taught me to see the good, no matter what the circumstances, was my mother."

Nila is the smallest member of the group, has such a powerful voice one wonders how that much volume can be produced by such a tiny person. Her range is amazingly low. On this album, she sings both lead and harmony. She is married and has one daughter and three step-daughters.
