MP3 Fingers and Knives - Humming Cables
Imagine if a post-punk band got stranded in tribal Africa for a decade, then recorded their abstract take on Radiohead''s Kid A. From its really intense rhythms to its lo-fi post-rock moments, Humming Cables is an incredibly interesting album.

"From post-punk to post-rock, Fingers and Knives exhibits a whirlwind of postmodern panache in the form of highly experimental indie noise-rock with his debut album, Humming Cables.
Telling a layered tale of a journey through a machine forest, over mountains, and across icy tundra, the album reaches soaring crescendos and falls back into near-silence as the hero of the album battles the world around him and, finally, himself. Three characters take the stage throughout the course of the album, the naïve yet optimistic inner-child (voiced by a falsetto coo), the protagonist himself (a wavering moan), and the monster (a deep post-punk growl).
The musical content of the album aims to convey these scenes in a purely sonic manner, which is to say, its the sound itself which tells the story. This ranges from lo-fi abstract acoustic guitar sounds to pounding drums and pulsating bass; from harsh machine noise to violins and cellos.
Humming Cables is a mixed bag, at times rather challenging, but also with its share of treats."
