Details:
Transcending into rock-n-roll relevence, 383 STROKER has been making "tracks" since their inception. After only a few months together as a band, their foremost recording showed up on the "Kill the Rock Star"compilation and was singled out as "the foreground of the comp" by reviewers. The sovereign release of the self-produced full lengthKelvinator record followed, bringing with it tremendous praise for its "raw" and "real" sound. Mountains of great press and an impressive list of college radio Adds helped land 383 STROKER a deal to license their original recording for national distribution.

After the success of Kelvinator, 383 STROKER continued to build a loyal following with the release of their sophmore effort entitled Jersey Whore...not for its prostitute sentiment, but for four friends huddled around a propane heater in a cold, damp garage living out the rock-n-roll dream in a place of splendor only New Jersey could afford. Jersey Whoreeducated the band in the "ins and outs" of producing a record and gave them the ammunition they needed to take their always-evolving song writing to new levels as they began work on their current full length release...You Keep Yours.

You Keep Yours, released at the tail end of 2003 has drawn major attention upon its debut. The band produced the record themselves with the help of engineer Jesse Cannon (A Static Lullaby, The Misfits) and had it mixed by industry veteran Ken Lewis (David Byrne, Soul Asylum, Mariah Carey). The band describes its sound as, "Americana heart, new wave melodies, neck-breaking rock-n-roll" and reviewers can't find enough good things to say about it. With quotes like..."You Keep Yours...It's Flawless!", "...Quality melodies that might well make a seasoned A&R scout blush with pride." and "383 Stroker have a BIG-rock, commercial sound that's made for the mainstream's airwaves". Although never the intention going into making the record, it seems the band has struck a chord in the land of "mainstream" audiences.

383 STROKER is currently promoting You Keep Yours with gigs around the New York City area which are attracting scouts from several major record labels. They've also been included on the Urban Noise Vol. 1 - Traffic compilation. This compilation CD spotlights some of the most talented up-and-coming New York City bands, was the SECOND most added CD to college radio it's foremost week out and, as of this writing, is#154 on the CMJ Top 200 charts and climbing. The band has also been a featured artist in the "A&R Report", on the "insiders" Kings of A&Rwebsite.

With gigs booked around the New York City area, a planned east coast tour in the spring and summer, a specialty radio campaign starting up in February of this year, CD sales taking off through traditional record stores, online record stores and legal download sites such as Apple's iTunes Music Store and Napster, the band has all their ducks in a row, so to speak. 383 STROKER is looking to make a BIG mark for themselves in 2004. It seems they're well on their way.
