Details:
COSMO - a true renaissance man - was born and raised in the parish of Westmoreland, a stone''s throw from the famous Negril Beach in Jamaica. COSMO was a child prodigy - winning a number of singing competitions throughout the island. Although he was recognized at an early age as having the gift to becoming a world-class entertainer, COSMO migrated to the United States and dedicated his time and efforts to his academic pursuits. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Columbia University and a Medical Degree from the State University of New York. COSMO is a Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Medical Director of Plumas Street Dialysis Center, a renowned Biomedical Researcher, a Scientist and Teacher whose discoveries have changed the clinical practice of medicine throughout the world. Research by COSMO and his colleagues at the University of California in San Francisco were the first scientists to show how low salt in the blood (hyponatremia) can result in death or brain damage in otherwise healthy young women and children after routine surgery. He was also the first scientist to show the mechanism by which a normal blood hormone (parathyroid hormone) results in the development of brain abnormalities in patients with kidney failure. COSMO is a member of the New York Academy of Science, The American Association for the Advancement of Science, The American and International Societies of Nephrology, and is recognized in Who is Who in Medicine, Science and Engineering. COSMO is the author of close to one hundred scholarly articles in prestigious scientific journals and medical books.

COSMO has received numerous scientific and scholarly awards. These include the prestigious National Kidney Foundation Research Fellowship, The Veterans Affairs Associate Investigator Award, Research Associate of the Veterans Affairs, nomination for excellence in teaching at The University of California San Francisco Medical School, and The Martin Luther King Jr. Award of The University of California San Francisco Medical School - presented by Chancellor and Nobel Laureate Dr Michael Bishop. COSMO''s name (Cosmo L. Fraser, MD) is memorialized at the entrance to The Medical School at the University of California San Francisco.

COSMO has now returned to his "roots" with songs of social consciousness, social justice, peace, love and harmony. In his debut solo CD in 1998, entitled FIRE THIS TIME, COSMO set a standard for himself that most felt took reggae music to another place and to another dimension. The CD received rave reviews and has become a corner stone in the collection of most reggae aficionados. Working with legendary reggae musicians - including George ''Fully'' Fullwood on bass - Santa Davis on drums - Tony Chin on guitar, the singer/songwriter wrote 10 of the 11 tracks on FIRE THIS TIME and produced the album as well.

In 2004 COSMO released his second solo CD which was another scorcher entitled GET UP AND JUMP. The CD was universally felt to be his best effort yet. Like his rise to fame in medicine, COSMO seems destined to leave his mark on reggae music, the symphony of his homeland. Like vintage wine, COSMO seems to get better with age. His magnificent voice with absolute clarity seems to permeate the music like strands of ribbon in a Jamaican wind. Before one gets carried away with the music, one only need to listen to his words to realize that COSMO is something special, and that his music will be a part of our consciousness for years to come.

On his latest CD - ALONE TONIGHT, COSMO has once again teamed up with some of the living legends of Jamaican Music to produce a new and exciting reggae sound dubbed - Cosmo Reggae Music. The sound is intricate and exciting, and has combined the sensibilities of the laid back classic Roots Reggae with the up tempo dance songs of today. With remixes like Get Up and Jump and Boom Boom She Boom, COSMO has indeed created a new exciting sound that will grab you and say "Lets Dance". His sixteen year old son, Etan, a true Jamerican, performed some of the most amazing Rap Lyrics heard in Today''s music. Like COSMO, his style is fresh and unique. His presence permeates the pulsating rhythms of Get Up and Jump and We Were Younger Then - written by Brian Jobson, Mendez and Wayne Jobson - like nothing heard previously. He raps the lyrics he wrote with amazing speed, clarity and poetry.

ALONE TONIGHT has twelve tracts, all of which are unique and different in their style and lyrical content. No two songs are alike, and all can stand by itself - "All killa, No filla". The title song ''Don''t want to be alone tonight'' is classic ''lover''s rock'' which will keep the ladies hearts pumping and their bodies warm.

ALONE TONIGHT featured legendary Jamaican drummers Leroy "Horsemouth" Wallace - star of the classic movie Rockers, Santa Davis, and Junior ''Bird'' Bailey; bass men George ''Fully'' Fullwood and Brian Jobson; guitarist Tony Chin, Wayne Jobson, Brian Jobson; keyboardist Jawge Hughes, Peter Couch. Other players include guitarists Glen Jones and Jerry Tillman, percussionist James Henry; horns Tena Grant, Todd Simon, I Timothy, David Sills and members of the COSMO BAND (Bobby Cobb, Emsley "Razor Blade" Fraser, Steve Krchniak, Rogelio "Jun" Lopez ,Abdul Wahid). The CD is produces by Bass Over Babylon, Wayne Jobson and Cosmo for Ginger Girl Records. Extraordinary mixing and mastering was performed by Neil Case of Homebass Studio, Jupiter, Florida.

Over the years COSMO has played numerous venues with some of the biggest names in Reggae. These include Toots, The Wailers, Lucky Dube, Burning Spear, Pato Banton etc. He has also performed with rock and role legends such as "The snake" - Harvey Mandel and Big Brother and The Holding Co at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. His favorite venue however is playing to a full house in the famed Fillmore in San Francisco. COSMO has played a number of concerts in his homeland of Jamaica. He has been special guest at the Western Consciousness Shows, and most recently performed at the Bob Marley sixtieth birthday concert at Marley''s birth place. COSMO is now a regular headliner at his performances, with large adoring fans. COSMO''s fans are as diverse as the man himself. It is quite common to see kids in strollers, teens with nose rings, and grandparents in wheelchair at his concerts. They have one thing in common - the love of COSMO REGGAE MUSIC.

Etan''s Biography

Etan is Cosmo''s third son, who was born and raised in Marin County, California. As a son of a Jamaican born reggae artist, Etan has been exposed to reggae music and Jamaican culture all his life. As a result, performing on stage comes quite natural to him. "When I''m on stage I feel like it''s my opportunity to express my thoughts to the people" Etan says. He is an engaging and very energetic performer. As a seventeen year old teenager, Etan is HERE and NOW. He loves all types of music and is an amazing writer (the fruit did not fall far from the tree). He is clearly influenced by Rap in addition to reggae, and has a unique rap-style which is both thoughtful and new. His style is original and will be hard to duplicate. The rapidity and clarity with which he raps is pure poetry.

Etan is presently a junior in high school. He was a star soccer player in his youth, he ran track for the San Francisco Striders Track Club, and was selected for the Junior Olympics. He has also played on numerous championships football teams both in California and the East Coast. However, for Etan, music tops them all - most of his free time is spent writing and composing music.
