Statement of Faith:

I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and "The Way, The Truth and The Life" as stated in John 14:6. I have received Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, and desire daily to live pleasing to Him. I will treat others with the utmost respect and integrity both in business and on a personal level. I am prepared to take advantage of every opportunity He provides to witness according to Revelation 12:11.

This page covers Peter's background both personally and musically.

Writer, vocalist and bassist Peter Bailey was born October 5th, 1952 and raised up in the Episcopalian faith in the Chicago area during the 50's when the family was the forefront and staple of the American way. Child 5 of 6 he was brought up in a loving home with both parents and a house full of siblings with ranging ages. His first introduction to music was the Accordion that his mother (who loved playing piano herself) would encourage her children to learn. In those days they would come to your home and teach your child. Peter 10 and his older sister Joy 12 would not find the instrument that intriguing and generally never practiced. Around the age 12 he decided that the Saxophone was an instrument he would truly like to play, but like kids at that age the desire would fall short in the reality. Knowing he had exhausted his ability to request for his parents to buy him another try he purchased the next instrument on his own and taught himself to play bass. At last he had found his musical voice in the world.

As with most people of the early 60's generation he was affected by the arrival of a little band who had jumped the pond to conquer America..."The Beatles". By the age of 14 he was playing with local garage bands and by 15 he was developing his songwriting skills. At the age of 18 he would lose his loving and cherished mother Catherine (Betty) Bailey to Cancer. This would leave an un-measurable hole in his life followed up just a short 3 years later with the loss of his father Peter Bailey Sr.

At 22, he moved to Champaign, IL and began playing everything from Rock to Jazz with such groups as Afterbirth, The Slink Rand Group, and The Re-Runs. In 1982 Peter did a stint with the Beatles protégé` group, Badfinger. The following year it was on to Roadmaster, this Indianapolis based band played clubs and concerts as an opening act for Billy Squier. Later they would go on to headline themselves, but the band would eventually disburse. One day in 1984 back in Champaign, he decided to form his own band playing covers and originals. There would be changes in the lineup until 1986 when it all came together and the final four included Michael "Ozzy" Husler (who he had played with on and off for several years), Andy Baylor, Ed "Buzzy" Eselby and himself, to make up Clockwork Orange. They were the local band playing at places such as Mables and touring around to the local hot spots. The band was together for quite a few years until in 1996 when again it was time for a change and he moved, this time to Nashville TN to pursue a fresh start.

He met up with singer Lori Lawton and her band Shyne, and began to play around the Nashville scene along with occasional Blue Bird gig, but it wasn't until he met up with Christian Blues artist Gypsy "The General" Carnes that he performed music with a strong Spiritual base and the impact was tremendous. It was at this point he recommitted his life to Christ. He then began writing and performing his own new style of Modernistic Christian Rock using the name 4N. This led him to guitarist Eric Edwards and their blend of harmonies and music styles helped to create the first 4N cd "Dancing With God" which was recorded, arranged and produced in a small two bedroom duplex, such is the life in Music City. This cd lends to the listener insight of a new believers journey to understand this new found love and relationship with God. It's mellow, full of sound and moves the listener through the cd effortlessly. This would be followed up in 2001 by "God Never Sleeps" an in your face title song that stands up and makes you take notice of it and life's current events and times. During down times the duo would perform their acoustic cd set "Before the Face of God" around town. This cd is a kinder gentler form of praise and worship that gives you a bit of an insight to Peter's life at that time and a man's struggle to find his place with God. In the fall of 2002 Peter met up with a drummer Bob Belli and with Eric Edwards they created the last 4N cd "God Only Knows". This is a powerful cd with songs like "Who Am I", Still I Ask", "King of All Kings" and the "Our Father" a musically powered prayer that you won't soon forget. In March of 2004 4N disbanded, but Peter presses on.

Peter is currently working on the new cd "Crossroads" which is due to be released by fall of 2005. We encourage you to check back as the cd will be released and some songs downloadable here first.
