Details:
A fan at “https://www.tradebit.com” described this effort best – good road trip music! Candy Conspiracy was born out of a long, winding road of discovery. Memories of Redlands’ orange groves, Tucson’s saguaro covered mountains, and Signal Hill’s views of the Queen Mary permeated the recording sessions at the base of Mount San Jacinto.

The songs were originally conceived as punk-cowpoke-pop blurs of desert scenery. All were fast, furious and loud as heard at Tuscon venues like Club Congress. In time, they became acoustic gems that were served up with the aromatic blends of It’s A Grind in Long Beach. Today, they land somewhere in the middle. Gone is the furious hyper-drive pace that fueled the fire. Instead, is a sense of place and time that is genuine. Brought to the forefront, is the always honest story of the song.

Jordan Gruener of the Arizona Daily Wildcat once described “Whatchya Gonna Do?” as an “archetypal rock song.” You decide if it stands up to that moniker. Here are the lyrics, play the song:

We got a one more mile on a road to nowhere
17 seconds ‘til we’ve got no cares
A few more moments ‘til the flash and then
It’ll be over so they’ll start again

Whatch’ya gonna do about it
Are you gonna run and hide
Whatch’ya gonna do about it
Are you gonna run and hide

That little girl with the tear in her eye
She’ll never again weep or cry
All because of the bastard’s roar
Won’t no one come ‘round here no more

Whatch’ya gonna do about it
Are you gonna run and hide
Whatch’ya gonna do about it
Are you gonna run and hide

Glistening darts from across the sea
Mean eternal peace for you and me
It’s not to say who’s right or wrong
It’s just too bad what they’ve done

Whatch’ya gonna do about it
Are you gonna run and hide
Whatch’ya gonna do about it
Are you gonna run and hide

Keith Hannaleck, of https://www.tradebit.com, said (of a previous effort) “Scott is able to speak his mind and get across his message with some straight ahead rockin'' songs. Elements of alternative, rock and a tad of punk angst for good measure is all part of the mix.”

So start the engine, pop the CD in the player and go on that trip you’ve been putting off. A few songs later, you’ll be there.
