LOTUS BY JORDI ROSEN
It takes only a few hypnotic verses to fall under the spell of Montreal singer / songwriter and spiritual channeller, Jordi Rosen.
In this follow-on release to her critically acclaimed debut album, Madame Xavier, Rosen''s angelic voice and soothing lyrics are once again accompanied by the rich, textured sounds of her faithful accordion and an eclectic mix of instruments ranging from the more tradional cello and fiddle, to junk percussion and analog synth.
The result is a unique collection of uplifting ballads that touch the soul like a mother''s gentle caress.
"I''ve always thought of my music as love songs for humanity," says Rosen." My latest album is about opening up and sharing experiences, and letting people know that they''re not alone."
Helping Rosen achieve the album''s unique sounds are long time musician-friends, Lisa Gamble on junk percussion, Carrie Haber on cello, handclaps and drums, Jace Lasek on analog synth and drums, and Wailin'' Jennies'' newest member, Annabelle Chvostek, on guitar, piano and back-up vocals, and Joellen Housego of Special Interest Group on fiddle and back-up vocals.
