Introducing “The New Song Kids Choir” . . .
*We are a fun-loving praise team of super neat kids (ages 8-14) ~ at least that’s what our director thinks!
*We are called, anointed and appointed to bring forth new songs of praise unto the Lord, our God ~ according to Psalm 40:3.
*We are worship leaders.
* We sing really fun praise songs as well as intimate songs of worship, created by our director, Jody Abboud.
* We attend public schools, private schools and some of us are home schooled.
* Our mission . . . to sing God’s praises wherever we go and to inspire others to do the same!

If you’d like to know more about the songs on this CD, read on!

Track 2) Stand Up! ~
This energetic, gospel-flavored tune features one of our favorite adult singers, Marie Espinoza. Marie really brings down the house with her enthusiastic, soulful delivery. The New Song Kids Choir backs her up throughout this fun-filled number. This song grew out of my experience in leading worship with children. On Sunday mornings, we need to ”Stand up (and wake up!) and praise Jesus . . .” ~ don’t let the rocks cry out and praise for you!!
If your church body has an awesome adult or teen-age vocalist who loves to improvise, this is a great tune for featuring them with your kids’ choir.

Track 3) Ha-Ha-Ha-Hallelujah ~
Get ready to move as soon as this one starts rolling! Produced by my Caribbean friend, Edy Lavelanet, this song is really two songs in one ~ usually referred to as ‘partner songs’. Even younger elementary choirs should be able to experience the joy of singing in harmony by learning Ha-Ha-Ha-Hallelujah. Have fun playing hand percussion instruments along with this lively calypso tune!

Track 4) God Made Me ~
Written especially for the younger set, they will be singing along with this delightful tune in no time! What an awesome reality that the same God who made the stars and the seas and the mountains ~ made me too! The verses sing about the how we experience God through three of our senses; seeing, hearing and feeling.

Track 5) More, More, More of You ~
This finger-snapping swing tune with an awesome horn section is a great reminder that we need to ask God to fill us daily with more of his love and joy ~ more of himself so we may have a greater and more positive influence for God in our culture.

Track 6) More Than Enough ~
This song of praise rides along on a compelling Caribbean rhythm. Again, our good friend, Edy Lavelanet (a native of Haiti) put his fingerprints all over this one. The inspirational lyrics, based on Eph. 3:20, remind us that God always has “more than enough” for us in every situation and circumstance.
The ending features a simple ostinato and descant that a young choir can easily learn and sound great singing in two and three parts.

Track 7) God, You are Good ~
This beautiful melody came pouring out one night when I became overwhelmed with God’s goodness and faithfulness towards me. This song can be sung by believers of all ages who long for a way to express their love and gratefulness for God’s awesome loving kindness towards them.

Track 8) The Lord’s Prayer ~
This slightly paraphrased version of the Lord’s Prayer is lyrical and heartfelt in its delivery by our awesome worship pastor, Jeff McCourt. It is amazing how putting a very singable tune to this powerful prayer that Jesus taught his disciples, will cause us to want to pray it even more often!

Track 9) All for Your Glory ~
This beautiful prayer song has already been used in powerful ways to bless and send missionaries on their way. It works equally well any moment of the day that we desire the Lord to work through ‘ordinary us’ to make his glory may be known to others.
“Take these feet, may they go where You will lead them.
Take this mouth, may it say what You would say.
Take this heart, may it beat with your compassion ~
so that others will see You in me today.
May it be for your glory, Lord . . .”

Track 10) Psalm 100 ~
A joyful choral setting of this Psalm of exhortation. Arranged for S.A. choir and piano. “Shout for joy to the Lord all the earth! . . .”

Track 11) Isaiah 48 (I am the Lord, Your God) ~
This exciting Celtic-flavored tune will soon have you tapping your toes and dancing along. God, indeed, wants what is best for us and promises to direct us in all our ways.

Track 12) Self-Discipline Rap ~
I wrote this rap as a public school music teacher. Our school community was focusing on positive character traits and what they look like in people who possess them. This version can be used in public or private school settings with a great deal of success and audience appeal. We use a variety of soloists who take turns on the verses. Lots of fun potential for choreography during the refrains. We have used this song very successfully in our appearances before more secular audiences. Without using the Lord’s name, it is still filled with His truth and wisdom

If you took the time to read all the way to the bottom of this message, you are amazing and way above average!
Thank you and may God richly bless you as only He can!
