Details:
Jason McLain is a piano pounding singer-songwriter based out of the Twin Cities. His sound is a driving marriage of rock and pop, characterized by powerful vocals and melodic hooks. His new solo project, “Drifting Through The Corners,” is a mostly “unplugged” album and is Jason’s first CD away from his band, McLain 88. While away from the full band setting, Jason is showcasing his rhythmic style of playing piano, creating an intensity that intermingles nimbly with his big voice.
The new CD ranges from lush piano/string blends to more stark and intimate piano/vocal performances. The album is a contemplative examination of relationship hypotheticals, full of pop hooks and big melodies. There are three tracks that feature Matt Winegardner (drums) and/or Chris Callaway (guitar) from McLain 88, but otherwise “Drifting Through The Corners” is Jason and his keys. Jason will play solo in support of the album before returning to the full band.
