MP3 Jesse Marshall - Sunset Blues EP

Laid back, edgy, roots based music reminiscent of J.J. Cale with a Jim Morrison delivery plus a mixed drink of Beck and Johnny Cash on the side.(Bourbon of course)

4 MP3 Songs
POP: Today''s Top 40, ROCK: Progressive Rock

Details:
The CD begins with the tribal stomp of drums, then is sprayed with a killer slide guitar scrawl throughout the first track which is entitled,"Inspired By You". Also, the vocals give off a hint of Nick Cave and Iggy Pop.
Track 2, "Sunset Blues", puts you on a see-saw of sinner vs. saint as you teeter totter back and forth through the basic human needs of love, lust, and desire, all in the attempt to love and be loved. The jungle rythem and snakey guitar bring to life this universal introspective.
Thirdly in "Pictures", you can detect a slight country influence in the twang of the guitars. On the other hand, the song retains an edgy indie rock vibe that could appeal to fans of the White Stripes or the Strokes.
Finally, "Little by Little", sounds like a combonation of J.J. Cale and the Doors. It has a great bluesy swagger, and the vocal phrasing is like that of Son House or Charley Patton in that it has it''s own particular cadence that takes you on a journey into the great unknown.
All of the music is strangely seductive in a way that incorporates elements of roots music and psychedelia with an edgier, more contemporary appeal.
