Jeff is a singer/songwriter out of Trumbull, CT whose been writing his own songs since he was in the fifth grade (although thankfully none of those songs are included on his CD) He began his musical endeavor at the age of 8 by taking guitar lessons for about a year or so then switching to the organ because his father had a beautiful three-tier Wurlitzer in their living room waiting to be played. After years of over-usage and several repairs the old Wurlitzer kicked the bucket and Jeff purchased his first synthesizer. From then on he formed various small party bands and played locally for many private parties and festivals- all the while hoping that one day he would be out there playing and singing his own tunes. High school came and went…college came and went…marriage…a couple of kids…of course the dog….. Well, that was many years ago and a couple of years back he finally began aggressively chasing his dream of making a CD of original songs. Here it is! Ten of his best tunes on “Trying To Get It Right.” All written and performed by Jeff. All in his own style. The songs reflect emotions and events, observations and advice that he is either living, taking or giving.
When asked who his influences are you get a list ranging from the Beatles to Neil Diamond, Bruce Springsteen , Johnny Cash, John Denver, Simon and Garfunkel and a bunch in between. He can’t pinpoint any one major musical influence but he swears that all of his father’s old 60’s records that Jeff listened to over and over again when he was young were definitely the foundation of his musical direction. Tom Jones, Young Rascals, of course the Beatles, Peter, Paul and Mary, Simon and Garfunkel- are all still being played on Jeff’s stereo today. He’s not totally caught in a time warp, however. His CD collection also includes many of today’s new artists as well. Let’s just say he has a definite appreciation for the classics of popular music.
So take a listen to the tracks. Hear for yourself the honesty in his voice and music. You’ll probably find a song that sounds like it was written just for you.
