I have to survive. That''s what Inkwizitive has been telling himself since he was 16 years old. Born in Boston in 1982, but moved to New Hampshire, Florida and Pennsylvania, before finally settling in Los Angeles, California. As a byproduct of a horrifically abusive childhood, the day he turned seventeen, he left his home with no choice but to make it on his own. Working full-time since the age of fourteen, instilled a strong work ethic. He had to survive life. He has something to give to the world, and a story to tell. People can identify with his hardships. That''s what music in general is all about. Relating. Writing stories since ten years old, he began to read and write poetry. He became obsessed with rhyming poetry.
A thirst for knowledge also helped in learning new words and ways to put them together. Being in ink''s house was never easy. He was never allowed to listen to hip-hop. Only country music was allowed in his house. It wasn''t until he was fourteen, when he first got a tape from a friend who didn''t want it. It was Notorious B.I.G - "Ready To Die". He sneaked around so his dad wouldn''t hear the tape and take it away from him. Needless to say, the ink wiz was blown away by this flawless modern poetry. So fast, so fluid and so perfect. It was the outlet he had been searching for his whole life. That was the beginning of Inkwizitive. Countless more hip-hop passed through his hands.
Some good, some bad, but all kept secret from his parents. He learned from it all, perfecting a different style and flow. One that was made up of everything, but sounded like nothing else. Now he wants to teach the world to love hip-hop again. Not the club-hop, or the bling-hop, or the hip-pop. Just the good old fashioned, childhood secret hip-hop that one kid devoted his life to being the most inquisitive about. Stay Tuned.
