Details:
Cole W Thornton''s "The Distant Sounds of Tony Caruthers" is a rainy Midwest fall, a Sunday morning in bed, a California farmland twilight, and the first album of electronic creations by this Fresno, CA composer. The fourteen tracks that comprise "The Distant Sounds of Tony Caruthers" are at once relaxing vignettes and multi-faceted microcosms, each track being built over time from ukuleles, beer bottles, soda cans, kitchen utensils, video-game sounds, and the fuzz and noise outside Cole''s downtown Chicago residence.
Cole W Thornton was born in Fresno, CA and studied music composition at California State University Fresno and Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Il. In addition to building gauzy, sepia toned electronic pieces, Cole writes music for choir, orchestra, and chamber ensembles of all shapes and sizes.
