Out Like A Lion play a brand of Indie, laying somewhere between the pop sensibilities of early Bloc Party and the stop/start technicalities of the likes of Tubelord and Tellison. Spending a long weekend in the Studio with Wellerhill Productions (Taking Back Sunday, Gallows, Young Guns), the band recorded the anthemic summer single ''Back To Front'', and b-side ''Assembly Rooms''.
''Back To Front'' was written with the sole intention of making you shake your moneymaker; all big beats and choppy guitars, whereas the technically playful b-side ''Assembly Rooms'', leans closer to Math-Pop bands such as Colour & This Town Needs Guns. The bonus demo, ''Elephant''s Trunk'' displays Out Like A Lion at their most raw, stripped down to just acoustic guitars, vocals and glockenspiel.
Although the band only formed in October of 2009, they''ve had the pleasure of sharing the stage with the likes of Babyshambles, Florence And The Machine (at the NME Xmas party), The Temper Trap, Darwin Deez and Everything Everything, aswell as playing Glastonbury. On top of this, they''ve been featured heavily on BBC Introducing Bristol, 6 Music and BBC Radio Introducing, even recording an advert for the station.
