Welcome to “Titles of Mary,” which is a compilation
of instrumentals dedicated to the Mother
of God. From the fi rst centuries Christians have
been honoring Mary with devotion under certain
titles approved by the Church. “Titles of
Mary,” makes a selection of six of these titles:
Holy Mother of God,Morning Star, Theotokos,
Virgin Most faithful, Queen of All Saints, and
House of God, Gate of Heaven.
[1.] Holy Mother of God- an instrumental based
on Gregorian modes in fi ve parts. Instruments
contain: Whistle, Lute, Gtr, Lyre.
[2.] Morning Star-an instrumental which protrays
Mary’s pure presence before God. Instrumentals
evoke her luminous holiness.
[3.] THeotokos- originally based on the “salve
Regina,” evoking the title as Mother of God,
which the Council of Chalcedon (431) proclaimed
Mary as “God-Bearer” or Theotokos.
Melody is composed for Organ and fl ute.
[4.] Blessed Virgin MAry-a hymn using contemporary
sounds which evoke her elevated stature
in Heaven.
[5.] Predestination of the Saints-
[6.] Immaculate Conception- Mary’s Yes whcih
echoes thru the centuries in the faithful.
