The album entitled, Seeker, includes powerful songs about our journey in life and the closeness of God’s grace and love when we feel far from him. It is honest and points a wandering heart in the right direction. The album begins with “Another Day”, a Rock/Pop song about each day as a new day and a gift from God. Throughout Seeker, Fonseca shares from his heart, as his lyrics touch on pain and tragedy that we face in life. Evident in “The Echoing Streets”, a song inspired by the events of September 11th, he explains how tragedy and fear that once echoed the streets in New York are now met with hope and peace echoing on those same streets.
Fonseca’s lyrics are raw and authentic as he writes about those who have lost much in their lives illistrated in “One More Song”, specifically inspired by Hurricane Katrina and the recent earthquake in Haiti. Some of the most powerful lyrics in the album Seeker are found in “When you’re lonely, it sure doesn’t seem so”, describing how we can never fall too far from God’s love. “cause you can’t fall too far / from the love I have and sometimes you just need to see there’s only one way to go, ‘cause when you’re lonely / it sure doesn’t seem so”. In “Redemption” Fonseca writes about God’s eternal Love for us, “Jesus, sometimes I’m Moses, sometimes Judas sometimes Paul, but I know without you I’m nothing at all”. The album continues with “Summer Again” an upbeat rock love song and “Close to my side” displaying Fonseca’s McCartney influence. The album also includes the title track, “Seeker” which is dedicated to all who have been lost or who feel lost from time to time; it explains that we are never too far gone. There is hope, because all who seek shall find. The album would not be complete without the crisp sounds of “Shine your light” and the bluesy gospel style of hope entitled “Have a little faith” which includes a full choir.
