Danielle Bisutti is well known in the tween scene as “Amanda Cantwell” on Nickelodeon’s True Jackson VP, but she’s also a songstress who delivers passion time after time. A native of Los Angeles and a daughter of Hollywood, Danielle’s no stranger to cameras and silver screens. But when instinct sets in, you have to go with it. With two albums under her belt, Danielle is taking on Dylan, Springsteen and a couple of others for her new EP I Will Cover You.

The best part about I Will Cover You is that with four songs listeners can love them all equally. There’s also good news to music fans out there yearning for more artists who could grace the Lilith Fair lineup. Danielle Bisutti’s EP is just that. It’s not even a handful of songs, but what it lacks in length it makes up with four songs that paint old songs anew with graceful ivory ways.

Speaking of Lilith Fair… If you weren’t aware of Danielle’s vocal chops before, you will be right off the bat with Dixie Chicks’ “ Let Him Fly.” This once country tune is transformed into one that will remind fans of the 90′s one hit wonder, Shawn Colvin’s “ Sunny Came Home.” Rounding out the middle is, “Make You Feel My Love,” better known when Bob Dylan has the reigns and more recently doing Adele some good, and The Rescues’ “My Heart With You.” The Rescues’ cover was nice in two ways, it introduces fans to a group they might not instantly know and it further stressed the fact that Danielle can sang, and yes, sang.

While the Dylan cover proved a song is only as good as the belief put behind it. I would’ve never guessed those weren’t Danielle’s own words because when she sings, you feel her heart reaching out. I usually hear songs and can picture them in movies, this one’s no different. “Make You Feel My Love” is fitting for that scene in every chick flick where Jennifer Lopez and that moments ‘hot guy’ are riding separate ways in cabs, looking out rain stained windows wondering the infamous “what if?”

It’s only fitting to end with the boss. For the first time Danielle showed more than singing with her version of Bruce Springsteen’s “ I’m On Fire.” With a little attitude in her tone, it’s a step away from the angelic melodies of the previous songs.

Cover songs are great. They take the pressure off of writing and allow artists to recreate them with their own style, however, with I Will Cover You the style for almost every song was the same and could’ve been mistaken for the same song if not listened to carefully. EP’s also hurt audiences hearts because they fall short in well, length and only leave them wanting more.

Danielle’s graced Los Angeles stages from The Roxy to Genghis Cohen, hung with the actual Cohen’s on The OC and even starred in her first movie with Boy Meets World alumni, Anthony Quinn, so what’s next, more acting and hitting up the music world with her renditions of classics? I think so. Fans of Sarah Mclachlan and Tara MacLean will lean towards Danielle Bisutti’s heartfelt music.
