This Requiem was written in the Spring of 2010 and dedicated to the memory of my mother who passed away in March of the same year. Texts are drawn from the traditional requiem propers in Latin, as well as Psalms in contemporary English. The text of Versa est in luctum is of Spanish origin, which covers a liturgical space between the sermon and final Commendation peculiar to the Mozarabic liturgy. The two Antipodes serve as musical bridges to and from Versa est in luctum. Antipode 2 is a retrograde of Antipode 1.
