Drayton''s love of electronic music goes back to his 80''s youth, where he discovered all forms of emerging electronic music from Kraftwerk to David Berman. During the 90''s he took in the tumultuous NYC music scene playing many styles from rock to funk. He was witness to the ground swell that became electronic music as we see it in todays culture.
Breathing Room is a record made for the down-tempo chill out connoisseur. From up lifting electro funk anthems to epic noir esqu compositions, and a few trippy hip hop joints for good measure. Breathing Room is a chill record for these tense times. Instrumental music with hooks. Backround music that demands your attention. Mellow but not passive. All the compositions on Breathing Room were created and mixed by producer and multi instrumentalist Drayton Michaels. Drayton has an extensive history of playing music over the past 20 years. He has studied with jazz guitar greats Joe Pass, Joe Diorio and Scott Henderson. Drayton has worked with some cutting edge producers in the last few years as well. Chris Young who has remixed tracks for Maddona, Gwen Steffanie & New Order. Has produced 2 tracks with Drayton for an up coming rock CD. Drayton also worked with Robbie Adams ( U2 Smashing Pumpkins and Spoon). Robbie mixed 5 tracks on the critcally acclaimed rock/pop CD Low Stress In The Deep End, which is also available at CD Baby.
