Artists Against Success proudly present the new album from MJ Hibbett & The Validators - ''WE VALIDATE!''

''WE VALIDATE!'' starts as it means to go on with ''Tell Me Something You Do Like'', a declaration of war on lazy cynicism and lack of imagination in songwriting. Other topics discussed include glamorization of the 1980s (''The Fight For History''), the roots of male/female misunderstandings in pubs (''Girlfriend Alarmed''), the effects of Manchester''s greatest songwriters - Morrissey, Johnny Marr and Gary Barlow - on one man''s life (''The Lesson Of The Smiths'') and the beauty of simple devices which enhance your quality of life (''Quality Of Life Enhancement Device'').

They''re not against love songs, just their use as default subject matter. First single ''Better Things To Do'' is itself a big hearted love song, whilst ''The Gay Train'' features a call for universal love via a tribute to The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and a Kraut/Ska trip through memories of Gay Pride 1994.

''The Gay Train'' is also being released as an internet video directed by Rob Manuel of cult website https://www.tradebit.com. Rob previously worked with The Validators on the animation for their song ''Hey Hey 16K'' which became a massive international hit. So far it''s been downloaded by over two million people, has been featured on television, radio and in magazines around the world, and was covered (separately) by a troupe of Canadian Mounted Police and a class of Norwegian schoolchildren.

This is the first time the whole band have worked together on writing the music, which has allowed them to be much more adventurous in what they play. You can hear their newfound confidence in the pounding Bogshed/Kinks racket of ''Looking At My Hands'', the string-drenched elegance of ''Mental Judo'' and the bass-driven rumble of ''Breaks In The Journey''. By the time you get to the epic noise festival of ''We Only Ever Meet In Church'' you''ll understand why the album''s called ''WE VALIDATE!'' - this is a band excited about the sounds they''re making!

There''s a wealth of extra material on the album''s multi-media section, including alternative versions of every song on mp3, along with lyrics and extensive sleevenotes, in-depth articles, interviews with the band and photographs of the recording sessions. Fans can also join in by visiting https://www.tradebit.com and submitting their own poems about quality of life enhancement devices.

Next for MJ Hibbett & The Validators is a tour of the UK during which they''ll be available for sessions and interviews - they''ve got a lot to say and are eager to find people who''d like to listen!

NOTES:
MJ Hibbett & The Validators'' previous album of new material, ''This Is Not A Library'', was named ''Album Of The Year'' in 2003 by Rolling Stone Online.
Tim Pattison previously drummed for indie legends Prolapse, toured America with Stereolab, and has played with the likes of Cornershop and Thurston Moore.
Frankie Machine is a renowned singer songwriter in his own right when he''s not playing bass for The Validators and was also part of number one hit-makers White Town.
Violinist Tom McClure also plays in rock band Lazarus Clamp, has previously worked with bands such as The Chemistry Experiment, and is a member of The Leicester Symphony Orchestra.
Emma Pattison joined the band after she and MJ wrote and performed a song together at her wedding to Tim. Grown men cried. The song (and wedding video) was featured on 2005''s ''Rest Of'' compilation ''Warriors Of Nanpantan''.
MJ Hibbett was recently approached by a major publishing house to write his Rock Memoirs, which he hopes to finish writing later this year.
In 2004 MJ Hibbett acted as Steve Lamacq''s European Cup Correspondent, following the release of ''The Fair Play Trophy (again)'' on their ''Shed Anthems'' EP.
Most of ''WE VALIDATE!'' was recorded in six days at a residential recording studio in Cornwall which was previously owned by Lemmy''s son. In tribute to this 60% of the band grew moustaches while they were there.
Further material was recorded in Derby with Robbie Newman from up-and-comers Plans & Apologies, with additional overdubs recorded in Leicester by Kev Reverb from Grebo legends Crazyhead.
