Oscar Peterson, Joe Sample, Sanborn and Luther, were some of my influences as well as Ohio Players, Commodores, and Cameo, back in the day.
I’m grateful to have so many fine musicians playing with me including Todd Robinson, guitarist for Luis Miguel. Drummer Gary Ferguson, credit too many to list, Lisa Haley whose song, “I will always be your guide”, I’ve re-done jazz-fusion style. Her albums can be found on CD Baby as well. Here are only a few of the other great musicians that have join me in this project: Terry Williams, Mike Maffe, and Tui Letui.
This CD is a compilation of original music as well as songs written by Alan Kisaka and Lisa Haley. It is played through my interpretation, the way I hear it, with all the soul, jazz, and funk I grew up listening to. I hope you''ll enjoy a different take on some familiar and unfamiliar songs.
