A little about Ed:

Ed Henscheid was born in southwest Iowa June 15, 1953. After experimenting with drugs and alcohol, he dropped out of high school in his senior year. Ed received Christ when he was about seventeen and started writing songs. However, he didn''t totally commit his life to Christ until age twenty-five, when his music was also shaped into a variety of Christian themes.

He met his wife Beverly in 1979 and they married October, 1982 in Cedar Falls Iowa. In 1984 they both traveled to Eastern Europe on a short-term mission delivering Bibles to oppressed countries.

After moving to Georgia, Ed attended Toccoa Falls Bible College in Toccoa and graduated with a B.A. in Music Composition. During this time he had numerous opportunities to use his music at local churches, as well as to alcoholics and prisoners.

The following year he attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. There he belonged to the Evangelist Club, gaining valuable preaching experience.

Ed, Beverly and their family moved back to Waterloo, Iowa in August of 1990, where they now make our home. They have two children: Noah, 19 and Kim, 17. Ed is a self-employed house-painter and Beverly is a home-maker. Noah is making his way through college while Kim finishes up high school.

About this album:

Picture Frame is a slice of life collection of original songs by independent music artist Ed Henscheid. The idea behind Picture Frame is to touch on the elements and events that a family experiences as time goes on. Picture Frame was put together with the help of fellow musicians, friends and family members. God was definitely evident in the creation of this new album; no matter the obstacles that came our way, we were able to get past them and work up such a great sound. I personally believe this album to be Ed’s best yet, as it’s his first to use such a wide array of sound. From a sitar to percussions and from a mandolin to a pedal steel, you’ll be able to enjoy a smooth mix and blend of some rather unique instruments. But really, the album wouldn’t be the same otherwise. By the time we found our way to the finish line, the final mix took us rather by surprise. If you ask us? We wouldn’t have it any other way. I hope you can appreciate our take on life, from our family to yours.
