Home Sweet Home is one of about 12 CD''s I am working on. I just completed this album and it is one of my favorites. It''s hard to really say I like it more than the others because they are each unique in their own way. As far as meaning though this is the closest to me. Just before I started working on this album, in early 2006, I battled drug addiction for the third time and won. Beating it again was nothing less than a miracle and I can honestly say that I saw the hand of God in getting clean again.
Home Sweet Home is a reflection on the time I spent in seclusion as well as the times I was surrounded by people. Although, the people I was around were the ones I hated. If I had not left when I did, I might not be here today. It was shortly after leaving that scene that I realized the true meaning of friendship and what it really meant to love and to be loved. My family took me back again just as they have always done. They bought me a brand new little baby puppy. I named her Layla. She has been a true friend to me and I love her with all of my heart. Actually, the song "A Little Bit" from this album has a verse or two about her in it.
Anyway, Home Sweet Home summed up in a paragraph might go something like...
I''ve been in love a few times and every one of those experiences have resulted in being completely and utterly devasted; emotionally and mentally. During those times I battled a heavy drug and alcohol abuse problem. I fought for my life every single day. Thankfully, I came out on top and this album is about the things that I went through. Everyone can relate somehow, I''m sure.
As always, I love you all from the bottom of my heart. Thank you so much for being so supportive of my music. You are all very special to me.
