PĂżlon press release (Blabbermouth)
Swiss doomsters Pÿlon have released their second album, "Th’ Eternal Wedding Band", on September 26 on Quam Libet Records.
Downloads, the track list and the cover are available at the band’s home page, https://www.tradebit.com.
The album contains twelve original cuts, written by all three members / vocalists, plus the video for the instrumental "2046".
"We enjoy trying out things and not having to stick to stereotypical doom, but we are honoured that some people are reminded of early [Black] Sabbath and Saint Vitus. Of course, those bands are hard to come by anyhow," guitarist / vocalist Matt Brand states.
Says bass player and main lyricist Jan Thomas: "Th’ Eternal Wedding Band is no concept album, although we wanted to try and and treat the recurring issue ''death'' in several different ways, lyrically. This spectrum is wide enough to allow for the sad and depressing stuff just as much as for religious, dramatic, encouraging, transcendental and even tongue-in-cheek approaches. It’s not meant to be ''something for everyone'', but diversified enough for the odd type of person."
“Th’ Eternal Wedding Band” is distributed by Non Stop Music in Switzerland and by various distributors world-wide. No distributor for the US is set of now.

Next to stand-out doom tracks such als "Falling Into The Sun", "In From The Futile Fields" and "To My Brethren", the album features short instrumental passages such as "L''épée dans mon coeur" - adapted from the flute solo of a discarded song - and two energetic stoner rock numbers in "Anaconda" and "Checkmate 64".
A moody video for the show opener "2046" is a CD-only bonus.
Here''s what the doomers have to say:
"Slow and heavy traditional doom with clean vocals following in the footsteps of bands like St. Vitus, The Obsessed, and of course Black Sabbath! Reminds me a bit on early Reverend Bizarre, and the best moments of Minotauri.
High quality doom from Switzerland. Listen to the sample of ''Falling Into The Sun'', and be doomed!"
