Valerie Woodard is an Anointed and talented Singer and Songwriter for Whole Armor Recordings. She has release her first album entitled RELATIONSHIP on the Whole Armor Recordings label, a mix of contemporary, urban and inspirational gospel music.
Valerie has an Associates of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Thomas Nelson College. Her greatest joys have come from first being a wife to her husband Vincent D. Woodard. She is also the mother of three, Chavonne, Laquan, & Kyra. Valerie has being an active member of Vaughn''s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church (Reverend Lynwood E. Batts, Pastor) in Elm City since coming to Wilson, North Carolina. There, Valerie also leads the Praise & Worship Ministry and is the director of VC Praise Dance Ministry.
Valerie started singing at the age of eleven in the 151 Annual Junior Miss HRHA contest in Hampton, VA. She had to decide on a presentation for the talent portion of the program. Unsure of what to do, she chose to sing. To the shock and amazement of her family and friends, a God-given gift was discovered. She entered and won many talent contests and has even performed twice at the infamous Apollo Theatre.
Already a music lover, singing, writing songs and poetry, became her best friend. At about 16 years old, a Christian friend had introduced Valerie to the likes of Commissioned, The Winans, Take 6, Bebe & Cece, etc. She became mesmerized by the soulful expressions of the love of Jesus Christ, the love for God, the creator. She embarked on a quest to know Him (GOD) for herself. Through many ups & downs, failures and successes, Valerie has done just that, and in return, God has anointed Valerie to touch the lives of others with her voice and through songwriting.
Valerie along with her husband Vincent Woodard, have embarked on a journey to impact the world for Christ through music with the birth of her ministry and the launch of their recording company, Whole Armor Recordings, LLC.
