THE VINYL STASH:
In the winter of 2003 open auditions for bass and drums were held in Manhattan by two jerks from New Hyde Park, Long Island. A BAND WAS NOT BORN!!!!!

But, one of the jerks from New Hyde Park, singer Jimmy Dowd, met a great bass player and friend, Spencer Coleman. Spencer walked in with a backwards Mets cap on, groovin'' bass chops and a tremendous enthusiasm for playing music.

The two were fast friends and spent many nights listening to Jimmy''s vinyl record collection (part of which was what Jimmy''s wife referred to as her "vinyl inheritance"). Spencer had a "vinyl inheritance" of his own. So they pooled these collections, which ranged from Tony Orlando & Dawn to Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath to Dumb Ditties to the Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Beastie Boys to The Carpenters and back around again to Zappa and Shel Silverstein. And of course The Beatles and The Stones. Quite a STASH huh??!!

After a few years of trying to get the band off the ground, the two held--yet again-- another guitar audition. In February of 2005, in walked a 5 foot nothin'' Israeli Rock/Funk virtuoso named Ziv Shalev. Ziv blew ''em away. But what Jimmy and Spencer didn''t know was that 22 year old Ziv had been a record producer back in Israel.

The three met regularly at Ziv''s apartment in Harlem working out harmonies and writing songs. Ziv decided it would be cool to record Jimmy''s tune ''Stupid Games'' acoustic style. This was The Vinyl Stash''s first official recording. The three band members began playin'' the track for everyone, including an Israeli drummer named Eran Asias, whom Ziv admired very much. Eran loved it and immediately offered to play percussion on the track. It came out so well Eran agreed to re-record drums on the first song Jimmy and Spencer wrote together, "Fit 2 B Tied". A BAND WAS BORN!!!

The Vinyl Stash are:
Jimmy Dowd: Vocals
Spencer Coleman: Bass,Vocals
Ziv Shalev: Guitar,Vocals,Producer
Eran Asias: Drums,Percussion
