Robert elkjer, a composer living in San Rafael, California, is also well known in the brass world. His music has been performed and recorded by Doc Severinsen, Joseph Alessi, the Buddy Rich Orchestra, Summit Brass, the Bay Brass, the New York Philharmonic Brass Quintet, and many others.
Elkjer, an avid hiker, draws inspiration from the beautiful hills of Marin County, where he has lived since graduation from the New England Conservatory of Music in 1980. One listener has said that "listening to ''Clean Lines'' is like drinking clean, cold water from a mountain stream, or waking up to a crisp clear morning overlooking San Francisco Bay".
Elkjer spent seven years mastering his own digital recordings of musical instruments and sounds. The high quality of these samples is evident in ''Clean Lines'', which was recorded by Elkjer himself, and is completely digital from start to finish.
