Details:
Washington, D.C. Native Teen Music Group ''Profound Intent'' features Devan "Lil''Ace" Brockenberry (14), Kie''Arra "Mizz Redz" Pretlow (17), Larry "LaPret" Pretlow II (17) and newcomer Alzater "Al-Baby" Acee (15). Although, uncle and niece duo ''Mizz Redz & LaPret'' started working together in a music group called "The Platinum Kids" in April 1999 which later became ''Young Crowd'' (2003-2006) within the span of seven (7) years''; Profound Intent was officially formed in July 2006. The group formed by LaPret, originally featured Mizz Redz, LaPret, Lil''Ace and former Lead Singer Jahnae "Misty" Johnson (formerly of Young Crowd) who was booted from the group in December 2006.

Profound Intent made their first performance at the Annabelle Ferguson Auditorium in Suitland, Maryland in September 2006 where they made a Spoken Word Performance, the group returned weekly and lastly on October 21, 2006 to perform a single called "Time 2 Shine" but the show was canceled minutes before they were due on stage. Earlier, the group was introduced to Singer, Kelly Price by her request at the 16th Annual Stone Soul Picnic at RFK Stadium in their native Washington, D.C. Price took the time out to give each member a personalized autograph and lend them some wonderful words of encouragement. On August 18, 2006 in Marlow Heights, Maryland the group met radio personality Michelle Wright of WPGC 95.5 who introduced the group to Singers, Lyfe Jennings and LaLa Brown. Becoming more than encounters, the group was inspired by Price, Jennings and Brown who each took the time out to meet the group and share with them their experiences.

On November 18, 2006 in the mist of media controversy sparked by fans of Singer/Actress ''Beyonce Knowles'' who overheard the groups stage rehearsal of ''Time 2 Shine'' in October 2006 and then uttered rumors that the group made an inappropriate comment in regard to the Performer and Rapper 50 Cent; Profound Intent recorded a street single entitled "Play The Field". The single about escaping a dreadful relationship and regaining control of ones life was an effort to bring an end to the rumors and the unwanted attention from fans of ''Beyonce''. Doing just that, the single oddly narrated the groups unfolding future with Lead Singer, Misty.

On December 01, 2006 after several failed attempts to replace Mizz Redz, Misty expressed to her Uncle and the groups former acting-Manager ''Cooley Pegues'' that she felt Founder & Owner LaPret was showing favoritism towards his niece Mizz Redz by working in her best interest before that of the groups, and giving Mizz Redz the ''upper or better'' verses. Johnson also stated that she no longer wanted to be a member of the group because of her allegations. Taking in consideration that the group has a major deadline for the completion of their "Various Motions" debut album, then slated for release in SPRING 2007 the remaining three (3) members (Lil''Ace, Mizz Redz and LaPret) decided in unison that it will be in the best interest of the group to move forward without Misty as of December 02, 2006. The Pretlow''s and Brockenberry also moved forward with new and much more effective management, which has landed the group in the recording studio working hard on the ''Various Motions'' album and then immediately preparing for a USA promotional tour.

Alzater "Al-Baby" Acee who''s no stranger to Mizz Redz and LaPret is the groups new Lead Singer. Profound Intent has vowed that they will prove that it’s possible for a girl/boy music group to exist in the new millennium.
