"For many years, I felt that traditional cowboy songs would sound good as solo guitar arrangements. Finally, while living in New Mexico and being immersed in cowboy culture, I felt the time was right to begin the project. As I learned more of the traditional songs, I began to develop a deeper appreciation for the music, especially how pretty it sounds on guitar. From my home in New Mexico, I had a view of the desert and rugged mountains. It was in this environment that I meditated on, sketched and revised the arrangements. Often when I traveled across the desert, and looked out across the vast and beautiful western landscape, it seemed as if the spirits of the cowboys were still riding the range and singing their songs. Quietly I listened, and it is from this space that I share with you ''Cowboy Classics''."
