Details:
This is Rich Eberlen’s first solo guitar effort. He started playing guitar when he was in the sixth grade after he was given a guitar for Christmas. In high school he joined as many bands as time allowed including his school’s Jazz band and Dixieland band. After high school he turned his attention to Classical music.

Later he became an usher at the Los Angeles Music Center and for the next two years sat in on as many performances of the Los Angeles Philharmonic as possible. During that time he also attended two guitar performance series which featured Sabicas, Andres Segovia, The Romeros, Julian Bream and other extraordinary guitarists. His ushering experience and exposure to world class artists had a tremendous impact on his playing.

A pivotal point in his musical life happened in 1990 when he joined the Air Force Band in San Antonio Texas and then six years later became a member of the Texas Air National Guard Band. For the next 10 years he performed in a variety of ensembles and toured the southwest and parts of Europe.

After his experience in the Air Force he returned to playing solo guitar. Some of his favorite guitarists include Sabicas, Pepe Romero, Joe Pass, John Scofield, Leo Kottke, Michael Hedges, Billy McLaughlin, Lenny Breau, Jeff Beck and Eddie Van Halen. He now divides his spare time writing for guitar and exploring the two-handed tapping technique on his patented experimental instrument he named the Solene.
