“Simple Praise” reveals a distinct departure from the previous releases. It features a live band on most of the record. In the past, James has used his production studio to create infectious grooves and smooth melodies all on his own. Asked why he changed his methods for this release, James said,
"This group of musicians are friends who I''ve been playing with for five years now. Many of the members accompany me during live performances, so I wanted to bring them in for the recording process as well."
This record is James'' second release of a strictly Praise and Worship style recording. The first CD featured the song, “Father of Life” which was published by Lillenas Publishing, and is available on the recording, “Best Worship Songs, Volume 2.”
James also writes and performs as a contemporary christian artist. Recently he performed alongside Ginny Owens, Mark Schultz, and Darlene Zschech at an Extreme Makeover: Home Edition benefit concert.
He has won numerous awards as a songwriter and musical artist. James also writes Pop, Southern-Gospel, and Black-Gospel music for other artists.
