The debut album of Neil Horsley, singer songwriter and guitarist, features a series of songs concerning people met and places visited while travelling the States. “Road Trip” incorporates wry, insightful and moving songs set to an eclectic backdrop of rock, indie and americana
The album is influenced by Neil’s heroes- the narrative songwriting styles of Richmond Fontaine and the Boss, and the guitar playing of Mark Knopfler, Neil Young and Chuck Prophet.
Accompanied by the MapMakers, songs on the album range from the barnstorming blistering twin guitar assault of “Subprime” , ruminations on being the victim of identity theft, "Some Guy is now me", to the sublimely textured and evocative "Empty House".
The project involves a collaboration with internationally famous photographer Andrew Moore who has provided the album cover art.
