Hi I am illogicalbeats.
I started my musical journey and a producer audio based entertainment at the age of 8 when my mom gave me a tape recorder. I would record little skits of my self on road trips talking about life and what i saw from my window of car.
At around 14 I started to record my brothers and sister in little skits we would make up a name and story lines to tell old jokes we heard. From even this age i knew there was power in the spoken and written word and i got great joy from sharing my views and humor with others in tape form.
In my early 20''s I started dabbling with dance music, on the play station MTV music generator, the acid pro loop mixer and Fruity loops. I realized one mix tape "GUM E BEAR" that was unnamed and circulated in the nor-cal rave scene. This was all the while I was a member of the gothic subculture of the same region.
I turned to DJing Goth Industrial and underground hip hop. As much as I loved these endeavors something always seemed missing. I was constantly writing poems and short stories and wished i could share them in the same way i shared by musical creations and remixes. As a DJ I truly fell in lust with the feel of using music to move minds and hearts, but it was not my message but someone else''s. I had dabbled for fun in to freestyle hip hop and was a lover of underground music in general when one day my best friend "and wife at time", suggested I take a stab at music of my own... and rap.
I chose the name illogicalbeats based off of a old saying "March to the beat of our own drummer". I found that my life made no sense and was very illogical... hence me. I am lead by illogicalbeats. I like to think the each moment of our life is like a beat to a song... From the heart beat that moves us and keeps us in time with our emotions to the staggered breathing of some one about to cry and lose it all, to the simple rested joy of overcoming a struggle. We all have rhythm and motion in our lives we all live beat by beat.
At first i wrote song and recorded them in acid pro, My first track was called BUILD HER UP and was a story of how i want to love my wife and son more in an attempt to build there lives up.
Followed quickly by my smash single SO YOU DRINKING.
For 2 years I worked on "all be it passively admit" an album "THE TIME". Doing live shows with hype men and other differing mixes of people. Until I deiced to go solo and join up with the SIK SIDE CREW. as of now I am about to realize my second album "THE SECOND HAND" It is the telling of my life these last 2.5 years, a Story of losing all you ever loved but finding the strength to soldier on using the gift that are given to you. It is the first true work that reflects my heart and my life.
