Born in Uddevalla Sweden in 1983 to musical evangelists Morgan and Helene Thulin, David was surrounded by music from day 1. He began to play piano when he was 7, but got serious about it at age 12. Under his father''s positive influence and interest in music, David was fortunate enough to have access to a small, but well functioning, home recording studio. In 1998 David attempted his first own recording, using a Roland D70, a Boss drum-machine, and a 4-track MiniDisc recorder. He was instantly addicted. "I couldn''t stop," he says. "There was too much to explore! But honestly, it was just good fun." At the time his productions consisted of Latin and Caribbean music.
In 2001 David was off to a university in the United States, pursuing an education in music. During his first year he was introduced to two new music styles he had never before given any attention: Smooth Jazz and Trance. Fascinated and inspired, David spent his whole Christmas break at home in the little studio. By the time the second semester of school came around, David learned about computer-based composing. "Now that I look back and listen to what I made in a demo version of Fruity Loops 3, i just laugh!" But his interest was just fueled all the more.
Time passed and through the 2000''s David gained new knowledge, got more gear, and got serious about producing. In 2008 David decided to release his first album "Morning Rise" on a local basis. It featured a unique twist to progressive trance that was welcomed by its few listeners.
As of today, we asked David what he is up to and what his future plans are. "I am always making music. I do a lot of trance, but I have found myself producing beats for local artists as well. The range of that goes from hip hop to hard rock and everything in between! I have also recently had my first small job making music for 21-episode Swedish Christmas show that aired in 2009. That was exciting. I hope to do more within TV and movies, but the trance goes deep and I''ll always be making more."
