Paradoxically born in the state of Nebraska, Jonathan Jones has been surrounded by tunes, harmonies, melodies and compositions since the age of 20...seconds. “I was born with music playing.” At a young age Jonathan’s career started in the church choir and has emerged into genre-crossing entertainment. Through his years of growth, Jonathan has fashioned his own genuine song style influenced by rock, jazz, techno, and spoken word. Being known as “Choir Boy” throughout his adolescence, Jonathan sees his listeners as a congregation of people seeking melodic guidance. In part with that, he insures his audience of more than just a song, but a message. A message that is sure to capture the ear of every listener. At 12 years old Jonathan Jones wrote his first full song. Three weeks after writing that song he sold it to local recording artist, “Tim Sheridan”. “I remember writing the song and selling it to him for 30 dollars, that was a lot of money to me! It was the first time I actually realized that the art I was creating had a value to it.” From that point he would continue to sell songs, verses, hooks, etc. Jonathan moved to Scottsdale, Arizona at age 15. Living with a single-father, Jonathan was able to learn many lessons the easy way, LECTURES. “My dad used to talk for hours! The advice I got from him set a solid foundation for me to grown on to this day. He was stern but his strictness made me the man that I am today. A lot of males from a similar upbringing as me can’t say that.” In his high school years Jonathan teamed up with his best friends Shaun Dixon and Brandon Bryant to form a hip-hop group titled, “The GoodFolks”. “Once the GoodFolks came around, my whole thought process of music changed! It was a constant battle; we challenged each other to be creative and to perform at high levels lyrically & mentally. It was a good thing for me; it was a good thing for us.” Now at the age of 20, with goals of breaking the genre barrier, Jonathan refuses to wait any longer for global notification. With music fused by empowerment, positive vibes, self enhancement, and lyrical brilliance this talented artist is sure to please.
