THE STORY SO FAR: Ex-Magneto front woman Lian Light says she doesn''t work well with others. But when she met Vendetta Red drummer Burke Thomas, Light knew she''d found her songwriting soul mate. "We were both multi-instrumentalists, both drummers in bands, both wanted to sing and both recorded our own song ideas," she says. "We also both have that spastic anger in our personalities that needs to constantly explode." As their respective bands were winding down, the pair began collaborating and opening for the likes of Helmet and Seaweed before moving from Seattle to Southern California.
WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW ''EM: The pair split the instrumentation duties and still churn out a hyper-melodic blend of indie pop and electronic dance. "We''re a two-piece who sound like a five-piece," says Thomas. "If Tegan And Sara stole Deftones'' gear, were hijacked by Depeche Mode and had way too much coffee, we would be the result."
