Esko Barje
Singer, songwriter, producer, entrepreneur: “Esko Barje” a.k.a. (Anthony Beard) is one of the most gifted, popular and influential figures to emerge in pop and R&B music during the past decade.
His career began as a writer/producer for (3 Boyz from Newark) which was owned by Music Producer (Vincent Herbert) most noted for his recent discovery “Lady Gaga”.
Esko Barje has written for the likes of such artist as (RCA) recording artist (Me2-U), (Jive Recording) artist (Hi-Five), ( MCA) recording artist (Smoothe Sylk) and perhaps his most noted works to date, his collaborated works, “How Many Ways” which he co-wrote for pop-diva Aritsta Recordinng artist (Toni Braxton).
The album sold more than 10 Million copies world wide and reached the top of the R&B music charts in 1995 earning him an (ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Award).
It was during this time that Esko Barje signed a major music publishing deal with the legendary Motown music Publishing under the creative direction of Nadine Baker.
It Should also be noted that Esko Barje has also worked with great producers like "Timmy Allen" who''s had a long run with Jive/Zomba Records, andand a string of hit songs with artists like R. Kelly, Hi-Five, Carl Thomas, Joe Thomas, Mark Dorsey and Stephanie Mills Just to name a few.
He''s also composed songs with "Gernard Parker" who''s best known for his production on such artist as R&B''s famed classic female group "SWV" (Sister''s with Voices).
Although the world had been exposed to Esko’s creative writing ability and intricate vocal back-ground styling’s. Most still anticipated his long awaited debut solo Album
Which is scheduled for release June of “2011”.
The anticipation builds as he launches his first single from the forth coming M.P.O.V. (My Point Of View ) Album which will be released under his own Publishing company "B-Time Entertainment".
He kicks the Album off with the launch of his ode to being drug free yet high off his own God given ability to Sing, Rap, Produce and write.
“I’m so proud of this album because it’s 100% me with no strings attached! Which is one of the reasons why I named it “My Point Of View”. It embodies songs that are positive and motivating no matter what my choice of topic is.”
After a long break from the fast paced music industry Esko says, “I stood back and I just observed all that was going on as it relates to the music of today, and although there are a lot of innovative things I can appreciate; there are also a lot of things I tend to disagree with.
Such as artist not wanting to take responsibility for the negative images they project as well as not wanting to be accountable for the negative messages that some of them convey through their lyrics.
I sometimes cringe when watching the videos now and seeing how they Glorify their money, sex, and drugs and flash demonic images across the screen as if to suggest to the unsuspecting viewer that serving Satan or performing satanic rituals is equal to that of normalcy.
So rather than just be a spectator complaining about what appears to be a problem in a field of entertainment in which I love so much, I decided to contribute my gift and be a part of the solution, with hopes I can influence others like me to do the same, because I strongly believe our youth are the people of tomorrow and the future fate of our world lies in their hands. So without the proper influence and guidance how can we expect to see things get better? And although many artist claim it is the job of the parent to guide their own children, whether we want to believe it or not, we the artist still play a great role as well, because our music influences many of them more so than their own parents!”
Esko plans to release three other singles before releasing his debut CD in which he plans to showcase the many sides of his talents as every song is written, produced , and performed by him, other than those indicated featured artist who’s names are listed in the credits. Esko has even ventured behind the Camera for the promotional aspects of this project by shooting and producing his own videos to the songs.
In short one can only agree… It is as he so clearly states in the title of this long awaited
Project “My Point Of View”.
