Zombified are a 5-piece death metal band based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Influenced by a plethora of old school death metal bands, Zombified play exactly that; Old school Death Metal.
Formed in late 2009, Zombified locked themselves in their rehearsal room for 3 months writing songs in preparation for recording their debut release. They released their first EP in August 2010 entitled “Outbreak”.
“Outbreak” is the much anticipated debut Ep perfectly capturing Zombified’s sound and direction. From the opening intro the listener is given a taste of unbelievable heaviness before being introduced to the slow groove laden opener Morgue Angel. Amputheatre demonstrates the more brutal side of zombified opening with blistering drum rolls and crushing guitars only to then be complemented by the cannibal corpse-esque guttural vocals. Although being the least accessible of the tracks Amputheatre will appeal to death metal fans the world over. The title track, Outbreak, is a minute long vicious, grinding assault on the listener demonstrating the speed and aggression of a truly tight band. Zombie fodder closes the Ep in style amalgamating speed, accessibility, dual vocals and raw heaviness to complete this old school aural assault.
