Details:
An unusual path has been followed by this 22 year old prodigy since the day of his birth. Gary accelerated quickly as a child. He could talk at 8 months, ice skate at age 3 and read at age 4. From the ages 6 to 12 Gary developed a strict discipline, training to be a proffesional hockey player. He played not only on traveling teams during the normal winter season, but also spring, summer and fall leagues as well as participating in boxing, soccer, wrestling and weight lifting as a means to train himself. He was even invited to try out for team minnesota 3 years in a row along with only one other person on his team. By age 12, Gary decided to leave the athletic world behind him. Music had completely taken him over so he set out to master the guitar. When he was 14 he started his first band, "Dead Metal". They played their first show at their jr. high school and were a huge hit. They ended up selling over 300 self made cd''s just to the other kids at school. Gary''s next big leap was at age 16. Having an extreme lack of passion for school, his parents agreed to let him test out of high school and get his GED. He spent his time with a new band, this time playing in bars, and plotted his next move. A few weeks before turning 17 he was enrolled in Music Tech college in minneapolis. He studied guitar, bass and drums. Graduating at age 18, he set off into his journey. Frustrated with relying on others in a band, he decided to craft his art as a solo act, playing all the instruments himself for his cd''s. He also did some session work for others as well as some freelance teaching. When he was 21 he auditioned for SLR recording artists, the J Project. After 2 auditions, Gary was their new lead guitarist. Now he was rehearsing and recording at the old flyte tyme building where Jam and Lewis made so many hits. While in the band, j project had a song on the top ten college radio charts and reached number 15 on the billboard singles chart, and toured nationally. After a year, Gary decided to return to his own music. So now at the age of 22, he has just finished his first solo record of all original material under the new label Perpetual Tomorrow. He performed every instrument himself; with no help except the pulse of a click track. Although, he did decide to have some guests and friends join him on a few songs, such as: scotty z. on drums for "Fifth Season", Kelly Casey on vocals for "The Lounge", and DJ Nimo for "Gary vs. Nimo". Just from listening to these songs you can tell that Gary is having a lot of fun and enjoying being free in the music business with no ties to a band or set schedule. Currently he is working with vocalist Matt Engstrom on his next release which should be out by the end of October 2006 on Perpetual Tomorrow records. visit https://www.tradebit.com for more details.
