Pianist Chris Ziemba, bassist Dave Baron, and drummer Kevin McDonald blend modern jazz, world music, and collective improvisation to present an expansive vocabulary of musical textures ranging from hot, up-tempo arrangements to lyrical, intimate, originally-composed pieces. Formed at the Eastman School of Music and comprised of musicians from the most esteemed jazz education institutions in the world: the Juilliard School, the Eastman School of Music, & the Manhattan School of Music, Trio Slaye is a contemporary jazz piano trio poised to cover the expanses of impressively broad musical ground in any improvisational setting. The group was recently selected as one of only four jazz piano trios to participate in Carnegie Hall''s "Brad Mehldau Master Classes: Advancing Jazz Improvisation," a professional training workshop led by jazz pianist Brad Mehldau, hosted by Carnegie Hall''s Weill Music Institute, and held at New York''s famous (Le) Poisson Rouge.
