Recorded in November and December of 2010 at Chase Park Studios in Athens, Ga, "Full Moon Fiction" is Galloway''s first attempt at a serious solo record. Though he has recorded several acoustic bootleg tapes in the past years, he was searching for a more dynamic and professional sound. He wanted to expose an acoustic side of his music which had yet to be seen through the workings of Mama''s Love. He called on the recording expertise of Thomas Johnson, an old colleague at the Music Business School of UGA and member of the Athens band, Futurebirds. Galloway and Ben Torbert, drummer of Mama''s Love, entered the studio and laid down the basic drum and 12-string guitar tracks for the album. Torbert would later returned to the studio for various percussion ideas. With a solid base to build on, Galloway took his time overdubbing several instruments, while also calling on some musical friends. Patrick Atwater brought his upright bass in for some thumping low end on a couple bluegrass/folk numbers, while Brannen Miles, bassist for Futurebirds, added some strong electric lines over the remaining songs. The secret weapon was Dennis Love, pedal steel player for Futurebirds, as he naturally layered his ethereal steel work throughout several tracks. The instrumentation was set and Galloway proceeded to lay down the vocals and several harmonies. Listen carefully on a couple songs and you can hear the high harmonies of Thomas Johnson, as he took a break from the board to test out some ideas. Johnson and Galloway spent the remaining days mixing the songs to their liking, ending up with the completed concept album, "Full Moon Fiction". Galloway hopes the album will bridge some musical gaps, while revealing diverse influences, and thinning the line between his acoustic and electric work. Mama''s Love returns to the studio in Feburary 2011 with producer John Keane for a full-length album.
