Equipped with a passion for Hip-Hop, the characteristics of a natural leader, and fresh business sense, Tbrown is ready to burst on the music scene with his first official mixtape “Road II Da Riches”. The California native’s style can be described as honest, poetic, and introspective as he discusses many topics, such as the trials and tribulations of his upbringing, motivation for his peers to stay focused, and living life to the fullest. Known for having a smooth flow, intelligent and heartfelt lyrics, and a clever wordplay, Tbrown’s sound is very versatile.
Born Terrence Lamar Brown, in 1987 in Inglewood, CA, Tbrown was raised by his mother, an elementary teacher, and his father, a budding businessman. Early in his childhood, his parents relocated to the nearby Rialto, CA. Brown also spent much of his childhood with his grandparents in the well-known Crenshaw District of Los Angeles, CA. He has been writing songs, short stories, and poems since the age of 9, and began recording music at the age of 16.
Growing up, Tbrown was always noted by his teachers and peers for being bright, witty, and standing out. Always one of the smarter kids in class, and a standout basketball player, he was then recognized as a leader. Like many of his friends, Tbrown was influenced by the gang culture, and although never joining a gang, he began to get into get into trouble that ultimately led to a few life changing consequences. In 2005, at the age of 18 with a new outlook on life, he decided to move to Las Vegas, Nevada and attend college at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Studying Marketing, Communications, Entertainment Management, and Music Production he received his Bachelor’s Degree in 2009, and refocused himself on establishing his music career. By taking his passion for the art form, and implementing the business and networking skills he established in school, he created his own management company BrownBag Ent. He teamed with up and coming producer Inkblot, to create a record called “I’m A Rebel”, which is an anthem for his Alma Mater, and is played as the UNLV basketball team warms up.
The very determined entrepreneur lists Tupac, Nas, Ice Cube, Big Pun, and Scarface as his musical influences, and Malcolm X, Russell Simmons, and Robert “Bob” Johnson as his personal influences. Destined for stardom, Tbrown guarantees that right or wrong, hated or loved, he is here to stay, and will speak for his generation, not take no for an answer, and continue to strive for the best. “Road II Da Riches.”
