Born in Brazil, Villy moved to Washington, D.C. in 1982. Like many of today’s successful entertainment artists, Villy began his musical career as a teenager singing in gospel choirs. He went on to complete courses in communication back in Brazil
While traveling through Europe performing with his Latin Band, he continued to focus on his music career, and further developed his interests in soul music. Villy opened shows for popular bands as Kool and the Gang, John Secada and George Michael.
In 1998 at the Zey Club, in DC, Villy released his first CD, “O Tao do Funk”
In November 1999 Villy returned to Brazil to begin a new musical project inspired by soul music and R&B singers such as Lou Rawis, Barry White, The Whispers, Peabo Bryson and by his idol and friend, Mr. James Ingram In 2001 Villy formed the group “STILL”, and appeared and TV shows such as Jô Soares Midnight, while in Brazil, Villy worked a advertiser in studios, such Studio HP, creating jingles for TV and FM Radio Stations, he also created a character for a Radio talk show (Wake up Pascoal).
Back in the USA, in August 2001 he finished his second CD “Soul Brasileiro”.
In October 2001, Villy released the single CD "Red, white and Blue" in honor of those who lost their lives in 9/11.
Villy has performed at the Lincoln Theater for the mayor Williams, with Mr. Rick Payton. and Mr. Tom Newman, at Blues Alley, with Rita Ferreira, jazz sax player, at the Brazilian-American Cultural Institute, Takoma Station, he also work as stage director for the Brazilian Music Festival, in VA, and for the Tam Theater’s opening in Miami, with Carlos Araújo.
