Details:
Hiding in Public features the quirky, award winning tunes of songwriter David Holland, and the extraordinary guitar playing and silky, soulful singing of Jamie Moses. Jamie has played second guitar to Brian May for over a decade and toured extensively with Queen + Paul Rodgers. He is one of Britain’s busiest guitarists and now his voice is winning attention.

Hiding in Public “subscribes to the long lineage of British pop song craft, starting with the Beatles but also the Small Faces and Squeeze,” wrote Billboard and, “displays the same unaffected yet sophisticated leaning of its predecessors.” Their thought-provoking, quixotic songs are loaded with radio-friendly hooks and retro twists. Exposure includes worldwide radio play, BBC radio interviews, television use, and 1st Prize in the prestigious International Songwriting Competition (2008). The band’s third album “Worlds Away, Yards Apart” was recorded in London’s Berry Street Studio, and has been well received by the music press and play-listed by radio stations across the UK since its release in 2009. The title track and “Sangria Evening” were radio favourites.

Their EP “Turned Out Right” will be the band’s fourth release. The title track is a dark, haunting number that rings with a mesmerizing chorus and sterling guitar work. The song plumbs for meaning, opening with the line, “Tried to find faith, hope and understanding / Tried to do good never found god.” It will make you think while you are singing along. The track “Vill Du Ha Te Med Mig (Swedish Tales)” is an amusing tale about a trip to Sweden that warps into an unusual adventure. It is power pop at its best with nods to the Beatles and Kinks, and is guaranteed to get your blood pumping as you shout “Vill du ha te med mig?” (That’s what the boys claim, so you’ll have to listen and decide). “Now’s Not The Time” is room-shaking rock that details a tempestuous affair with the main character declaring, “Now’s not the time for the truth.” Does he hear it? The band has released a video for the song “The Road To Happiness (Is Nothing Like The Road To The Coast)” which employs dark humour to subvert misguided aspiration in a tune that is reminiscent of The Police.

The title track “Turned Out Right (Found What’s Wrong)” and “Vill Du Ha Te Med Mig (Swedish Tales)” have already caught the fancy of UK radio stations. The EP is due for digital release on 31 January 2011.

Hiding in Public’s three previously released CDs are available through iTunes and other digital outlets.
