Engineers in Your Ear are an alternative hip-hop group from the south-west United States with members based out of Los Angeles, CA and Phoenix, AZ. Incorporating many styles into their music, they are also audio engineers and composers for many other music projects including music, film and gaming. Til The Clouds Run Dry is an album that''s an instant attention grabber in the pile of CDs around me – and for several reasons. First, in addition to two skilled emcees, the group features instrumentation uncommon in hip-hop these days, including live Spanish guitar, no use of samples, tempo shifts, and even a symphonic track. Second, Engineers in Your Ear are a hip-hop group deeply rooted in conscious awareness and dialogue. Of the fifteen tracks in Til The Clouds Run Dry, there is not one that fails to comment on current events, world history or humanitarian unity.
The first single of the album, Honest Microphone, is a thoughtful collaboration with newly signed Rhymesayers artist Grieves. This song depends on piano chords and drum grooves that are masterfully intertwined with a syncopated bass-line as the lead melody. Other hits include the inspirational track Til The Clouds Run Dry, a collaboration with Black Clover Militia''s own mid-west legend Mac Lethal, and the lyrical Diplomat, yet another collaboration with Jamaican based emcee Black Mattic.
