Ricky X of Elastic Souls first hit song, "Machines" released in 1997 under his original band NuCre8tion. This song appeared on a couple of compilation albums that sold worldwide. Machines was received with rave reviews from the United States, Germany, The UK, as well as in other countries.
The song was originally recorded in the studio. But due to multiple studio delays only to find out the studio had ruined the master on the same day that "Machines" needed to be overnight to meet the record companies deadlines, Rick Kuyper (Ricky X) and Kevin Golden recorded and mixed down the song on a 4-track mixer and had it in the mail within 4 hours time. The fast recording and editing job gave "Machines" a rough edge to it that set it apart from other well polished recordings. Machines is often compared to Depeche Mode''s music.
The CD versions are all long gone and out of print. Ricky X is planing on rerecording "Machines" for his new project ELASTIC SOULS. It will be titled "Machines (upgrade 2.011)" The song will be featured on the album Mechanical Humans. The new version will be completely different from the original version.
