G.Q.,is a son of the infamous Melpomene projects located in Uptown New Orleans, L.a. The Melpomene projects shares the status of being the most dangerous projects in all of New Orleans with the Magnolia Projects and the Calliope Projects. This rough environment served to mold the unique artist that is G.Q.
His destiny would change when Hurricane Katrina made her nightmare appearance. He chose to leave the devastation behind, relocate to Utah, and start his life over. Even the abrupt change from the only place he ever called home to an entirely different environment did not defeat his New Orleans spirit. Music has been an outlet for G.Q. to express his wishes, experiences, desires, and true New Orleans go down fighting attitude. He is the primary representative from the New Orleans 3rd Ward district and serves as C.E.O. of Stay True Or Die Entertainment (S.T.O.D.).
Even though G.Q. will bring his unapologetic and street-centered perspective tone to his music it is directly reflective of the gutter environment from which he rose. With his vivid lyrics and explosive delivery G.Q. gives voice to everyone on the grind who refuses to take no for an answer in the struggle to succeed.
