Paul Solomon: Chronicles of Love is a comedic web series set in contemporary Brooklyn inspired by the songs and iconography of musical acts from the late seventies and early eighties such as Hall and Oates, Jim Croce, Bread, and Billy Joel--the softer side of popular rock from that period. Each episode features a music video nested in the framework of a short, dialogue-driven narrative as we follow Paul Solomon in his quest for love and musical inspiration. Unlike the ironic, detached indie-rock musicians who surround him, Paul’s music is deeply earnest and refreshingly simple. Paul supplements the reality of his nondescript existence with a vivid fantasy life rich with hopeful naivety and elaborate evasions from harsher life truths. Despite Paul’s best efforts, the world invariably disappoints, resulting in a chronicle of misadventures.
