Blk Swan-
I was molded from mortar mix and a voice box. Born to breathe life into those who need something more. My song is a victim of Psalms Sundays. My poetry is a walking testimony for everything in-between breathes. There are days that date my accomplishments via paper, trophies, and film. For this I am appreciative. But my spirit smiles the most when I’ve allowed my God to use me through this gift; and I can feel everything above the scores, judgments, and all doubt… worth it. So I write. I sing. I bleed poetry. It is so much greater than I. I am just a vessel through all the above and concrete. Hear for a purpose. I am BLK Swan. Sherrica Cole.

• 2007 - iWPS (Individual World Poetry Slam) Charlotte representative
- Ranked 44th in the nation for iWPS
- Conducted and co conducted Writing / poetry workshops for “Girl Talk” and poetry class at Garringer High School
- Feature poet for: Center City Partners, Gilford College, Wake Forrest University, Belmont Abby College and many more venues.

On Q-
Quentin "Q" Talley began acting in Greenwood, SC in community, high school and church theater productions. He continued training at Winthrop University where he seriously began writing poetry, performing as a Slam Poet, directing and received his BA in Theater performance.
He has performed throughout the country at the Nyroucian Poets Society, The Bowery Poetry Club, Hawaii Slam, and Toronto Slam, to name a few . Placed 12th in 2006 at the Individual World Poetry Slam, 2nd in the nation with team Slam Charlotte at the National Poetry Slam in 2005, and is a two time Southernfried regional champion, in 2005 & 2007. He has also appeared in the open door Borders Poetry series and the Turner South network and has shared the stage with Bishop Desmond Tutu, Nikki Giovanni, Cee-Lo, MC Lyte, Ted Turner and Tavis Smiley. Q recently finished his 2nd album and one man show entitled, Take Cover.
Q founded the theater company, On Q Productions, with a mission to produce classic, contemporary and original performance works that reflect the minority experience, especially that of the African American. In its third year, the company has produced works ranging from For Colored Girls, Dutchman, Day of Absence, and In the Blood to critical acclaim. Based in Charlotte, NC, this emerging theater company recently made its mark locally, nationally, and internationally, with the original production, Miles & Coltrane: Blue(.) by Concrete Generation. Summer 2009, the production premiered in NYC and Edinburgh, Scotland at the East to Edinburgh Festival and Fringe Festival to sold out audiences, and is currently gearing up for its fall tour. On Q is now in its second season at the NC Blumenthal Performing Arts Center
Last year, Q was also awarded MTA''s emerging artist of the year, and was a Roundtable artist for Americans for the Arts National Arts Policy Roundtable at the Sundance Institute.
